For your events, the MAK offers much more than just an impressive museum backdrop. The building is an exceptional venue in many ways, catering to almost any occasion with its spatial and technical capabilities. Choose to celebrate either in the traditional and classic ambiance of one of Vienna’s most famous architectural masterpieces on the Ringstrasse, or take advantage of the unique atmosphere of the simple, elegant architecture of the large exhibition halls and the fully equipped and furnished lecture hall. In addition to the lecture hall, the MAK also rents out empty rooms with infrastructure, but without furniture or technology. Catering and other service providers are freely selectable.

Columned Main Hall

The Columned Main Hall of the MAK is one of Vienna’s most representative venues and an exclusive location for receptions, gala dinners, or presentations. Built in the magnificent Florentine Renaissance style, the Columned Hall, with its exciting temporary contemporary installations, serves as an ideal starting point for special tours of one of the most famous collections of applied arts. These can be combined with a reception upon request.

Exhibition halls

The exhibition halls, accessible via the main entrance on Weiskirchnerstraße, were built between 1906 and 1909 according to plans by the architect Ludwig Baumann, and with a total of approximately 2,700 m², they are among the largest exhibition spaces in Austria. Upon entering the “Weiskirchnertrakts,” visitors are impressed by the magnificent entrance foyer, built in the style of late historicism, which is considered one of the most beautiful and spacious on the Vienna Ringstraße. If the halls are not occupied by museum exhibitions, they are also available for your events (such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, etc.) during the MAK’s opening hours. The facilities are fully air-conditioned and suitable for gala dinners, receptions, premieres, conferences, fashion shows, product presentations, or trade fairs.
